Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon big-ticket drops or trade. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your items.
Upgrades to equipment provide an increase in the item's stats. The bonus is according to the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the things that make your weapons and armor more effective. You can find them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in the form of item-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components, or by utilizing high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Casesgg to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
Upgrade components are mostly used to improve an item however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to enhance the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can be forged for additional bonuses. A glyph that is crafted can boost the upgrade chances of its target, while an upgrade boosts the attack or defense capabilities of a weapon.
You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. You can also make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item will gain when upgraded with that component. For instance, organic components give an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. It is therefore best to upgrade using organic components until you reach the experience multiplier of the next rank of weapon or gear, then change to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that is available for. The number of upgrades is determined by the rank that can be upgraded and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon with the tier 10. However, the most common weapon upgrades are the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects that all share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and the upgrade will increase its guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item or set piece will give it an increase of +1 to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are boosted even further (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its stats will increase randomly.
The upgrade of a weapon can increase its damage base, which could be necessary for certain builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a greater maximum defense roll than their regular base. It is possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, but they might not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.
If you're upgrading an item with an added bonus it can be rerolled a single time, and its guarantee will reset back to zero. The same power die is used to roll an item as it is used to upgrade it. However, the new item has different bonuses. Upgrades can be completed by visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be bought with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also give an extra reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a second time and will be made using the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
A player is able to reroll any item acquired in the game provided they have enough reroll tokens. When an upgraded item is being rerolled, it can be exchanged for a level 1 version of the same item in a different set. Reroll tokens can be bought at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. However, they aren't refundable. The new item will have the same bonus features as the original, but the statistics will also be different.
In addition to rerolling objects, players can also change the identification of any equipment by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, while retaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters who have the gear.
The player can also upgrade the item level for any equipped equipment. This can be done by engaging with an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade components. It will cost a specific number of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and the item type. For weapons, each step up will add 5percent to the damage.
Upgrades can increase the power of an item, however they can also reduce the quality of an item. It is therefore essential to find a balance between these two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading and some will require to be upgraded to reach their potential. For instance, a player might want to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to see what it can become.
The primary reason people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is because they're trying to obtain a particular character or weapon that they aren't able to obtain. These items can be expensive and time-consuming, and the RNG gods aren't always willing to play. The only options are to spend real cash or grind lots. This is why rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. However, this feature is absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was intended to be a way to give some value to rare items, but since the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded once you've reached a certain level and you'll typically replace the item before it becomes too old. It's also not worthwhile to upgrade items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.
You will see a small box when you click the upgrade option for an item. It will display the template for the item, its crest, and the cost for Valorstone to raise the item's level. Weapons and armor will have different costs, with the latter generally being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to the upgraded item. It will also list its current ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated based on the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade template's reduction percentage for lvl. For instance an upgrade of 8% can reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
In addition to the increase in ilvl base it will also receive upgrades in other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block, and parry rating. The increases are also based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template you can see the amount of damage or defense that the item will be able to sustain after being leveled up. This is shown below the cost and the upgrade percentages. All armor and weapons, except practice equipment, get these stats when they level up. The market determines the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can fetch more than a non-upp’d version. Similar is the case for other pieces of armor, like tiaras and circlets.
